Tohoku University is currently seeking to fill the following position:

IRIDeS is seeking a faculty who has all the following specialties.
1. To facilitate researches to elucidate the effect of disaster on mental and physical condition of affected communities and to improve policies and technologies for disaster health response.
2. To contribute to the development of multidisciplinary research field of disaster science with the idea of disaster management cycle.
 Qualification   Requirements
The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree in a related discipline, having a position of an assistant professor at a university, or equivalent experience at a research institute, as of November 1st, 2019. 
 Application
Applicants should fill in necessary items in the application forms, which are downloadable from the IRIDeS website:
1. Curriculum vitae (Form 1)
2. Publication list/Research activities (Form 2)
3. Past research activities on 2-3 pages of A4 or letter size (Form 3)
3. Statement toward research activities at IRIDeS on two pages of A4 or letter size (Form 4)
4. Reprints of academic papers and/or books: selected 5 files maximum with numbers consistent with the publication list (Form 1-2).  If 10 files include book chapter(s), add a copy of the publication information pages and table of contents proving the applicant’s contribution to the books.
 
Note 1: Application forms (from1 to 4 above) must be written in English or Japanese. 
Note 2: Publication list (Form 1-2) must be categorized as “Peer reviewed journals”, “Conference proceedings”, “Research papers”, “Presentations,” and so on.
Note 3: Three copies of printed application forms (from 1 to 3 above), and one copy of papers or books (5 above) should be submitted.  CD or equivalent device containing digital files of application forms (from 1 to 4 above) and papers or books (5 above) shall be submitted (PDF is desirable).  A CD containing digital files of the documents in PDF or Word format shall be attached.
Note 4: The submitted documents will not be returned to the applicants. 
 Term of   Employment Starting: November 1, 2019, or later. The term of employment is up until March 31, 2022.
 Salary
Payment will be made in accordance with the Tohoku University’s rules and regulations.

 Selection
1st screening: review of the application documents.
