To reveal surface geometry, morphological characteristics and mode, and earthquake source process, we research whole of active fault from surface to deep subsurface in cooperation with Dept. Earth Sci., Tohoku Univ. Following studies contribute to risk assessment of onshore active fault as basic data, and also have important role in regional plan for disaster prevention and disaster mitigation;

  1. Research for surface geometry and subsurface geological structure (using geomorphological survey and seismic reflection survey)
  2. Research for faulting history and assessment of activity (using paleoseismological survey)
  3. Research for forming process of active fault (using drilling survey and electromagnetic survey)
