IRIDeS is currently seeking a faculty position as follows:
Disaster Medical Informatics Lab.
Core Research Cluster on Disaster Science

Position: Assistant professor
Research and Education:
  Research expertise in medical informatics and resilience for disaster medicine and/or medical support is appreciated. The candidate is supposed to serve as the project coordinator in the Core Research Cluster on Disaster Science (http://dsmca.irides.tohoku.ac.jp/), especially in the Project Research on Healthy Recovery from Disaster Damage. The transdisciplinary collaborative coordination also aims at the fusion of natural, medical, and humanities science to establish and nurture the science for resilience in view of physical, mental, and social well-being. Education: Lectures and supervises undergraduate and graduate students in collaboration with Tohoku University Hospital, and Graduate School of Medicine.
Qualification Requirements: 
  The candidate must have a doctoral degree (Ph.D.). In addition, experience in obtaining external funding as a principal investigator and research results in related areas is desirable.

2. Statement about past research activities related to the research expertise on A4 or letter size (Form 3, less than two pages)
3. Statement about past disaster medical response (Not mandatory but if any, submit using Form 4, less than two pages)
4. Statement about past research and implementation of health workforce development (Not mandatory but if any, submit using Form 5, less than two pages)
5. Statement about your next research activities, education, and implementation on disaster medicine and the Research Project for Healthy Recovery from Disaster Damage at IRIDeS (Form 6, less than two pages)
6. Reprints of academic papers and/or books: selected 10 files maximum with numbers consistent with the publication list (Form 2). If the files include book chapter(s), add a copy of the publication information pages and table of contents proving the applicant’s contribution to the books.
7. Application forms (designated in items 1 to 3 above) must be written in English or Japanese. 
8. Publication list (Form 2) must be categorized as “Books”, “Peer-reviewed papers in academic journals”, “Reviewed conference papers and proceedings”, “Reviewed summary of conference papers and proceedings”, “Other papers”, “Industry property rights”, “Invited speaker,” and so on. 
9. Three copies of printed application forms (designated in Items 1 to 5 above), and one set of the printed five selected papers or books (Item 6 above) should be submitted. Also, a CD, a USB drive, or an equivalent media containing the digital files of application forms (designated in Items 1 to 6 above) and the PDF of five representative papers (Item 7 above) shall be submitted.
10. The submitted documents will not be returned to the applicants.
Term of Employment: 
     Starting: October 1, 2022, or later, as early as possible.
     The employment term is three years and can be extended up to five years based on the result of the intermittent evaluation.
Salary: Payment will be made in accordance with Tohoku University’s rules and regulations.
Deadline: Aug 19th, (Fri.), 5:00 pm, 2022 (Postal stamp on Aug. 18th is effective.
