Research Activities

In disaster response, container-type multi-functional facilities with the following functions deployed in physical space and their digital twins constructed in cyberspace are sequentially deployed to the disaster area according to the situation of the disaster area, based on the network convergence infrastructure of electric power and information communications, from the time of disaster occurrence to the recovery and reconstruction period, It is important to provide seamless support to the affected areas from the time of the disaster to the recovery and reconstruction period.
A (from the time of disaster to 72 hours): DIMAT support function
B (72-1000 hours): Shelter support function
C (1000 to 10000 hours): Temporary housing support function
D (10000 to 100000 hours): Livelihood reconstruction support function

Depending on the predictability of disasters and the level of disaster, portable and expandable container-type multifunctional facilities are envisioned to be deployed at roadside and  put into the disaster areas.

In order to construct portable and expandable container-type multi-functional facilities as a digital twin in cyberspace, we are studying an architectural model consisting of the following functions
(1) Mobility function: Transportation of container-type multifunctional facilities according to the situation in the disaster-stricken area
(2) Electricity supply and information communication function: Electricity supply means to operate container-type multi-functional facilities, and information communication means for medical information, AI-based medical support, and coordination with related institutions.
(3) Medical function: Medical support means to be deployed sequentially in the affected area from the time of the disaster to the recovery/restoration period, depending on the level of the disaster.
