Research Activities

In the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake, the tsunami caused not only damage caused by the inundation, but also damage by the collapse of buildings and collisions by drifting objects. In our study, we are developing a numerical model that predicts the risk of damage to structures and damage by drifting objects due to tsunamis and floods, and to predict in real time. In addition, we are studying on modeling of topography and structure data,  visualization using VR, etc. to realize the inundation characteristics around the structure in detail.
