Research Subject(s)
I explore ocean circulation / mixing and stratified structures, and their fluctuations, focusing on ventilation of the upper ocean, using data from the global automatic ocean observation network Argo, research vessels and various data assimilation products. Recent research targets include changes in frequency and strength of extreme events such as marine heatwaves, which cause meteorological and oceanographic disasters, in the warming world.
