對於台灣東部震災表示哀悼（所長訊息）
我們謹向2024年4月3日台灣東部地震中的遇難者表示最深切的哀悼，並向所有受災者表示衷心的慰問。
2011年東日本大震災之際，臺灣人民為東北提供的大量援助，對於我們這些生活在東北的人仍記憶猶新。如果本研究所可以從科學研究的面向出發，為震災地的恢復與重建提供協助的話，我們期望透過與已建立夥伴關係的學術機構進行密切合作來積極支援。我們衷心祈禱所有震災地民眾早日恢復和重建。

Sympathy for the Earthquake with Epicenter in Eastern Taiwan (Message from the IRIDeS Director)
We express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the earthquake that struck eastern Taiwan on April 3, 2024, and extend our heartfelt sympathies to all those who were affected.
We in the Tohoku region remember well that it was the people of Taiwan who provided much support to Tohoku at the time of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011. If it is possible for the International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS) at Tohoku University to cooperate in the recovery and reconstruction efforts from a research perspective, we would like to be actively involved through collaboration with academic and other institutions with which we have already formed partnerships.
We sincerely wish everyone who has suffered damage a speedy recovery and swift restoration of the affected areas.
